Vehicle bugging device found
A senior executive found what he suspected to be a bugging device in his vehicle while attempting to change a flat tyre on a Saturday morning.
He immediately called and we arranged a neutral local venue to take the vehicle to for further inspection. We provided practical, real-time advice on how to handle the situation, what to say and to whom.
- The device was assessed and photographed before being removed from the vehicle (whilst preserving any forensic evidence)
- The vehicle was fully searched and a TSCM sweep was performed
- The CEO was contacted discreetly and a meeting (at a neutral venue) was arranged that afternoon where the situation, initial assessment and plan of action were discussed
- By Sunday evening all executive level vehicles had been discreetly searched and swept
- Forensic investigation of the device revealed its function, operational date and potential owner. Utilising this information a risk exposure assessment was performed and appropriate mitigating steps were taken
- Utilising all the information an internal investigation took place, suspect identified and appropriate actions followed
