Warning Signs That You May Be A Victim Of Bugging Or Covert Espionage

• Your competitors seem to know too much about your business
• You are losing customers to rivals for no apparent reason
• You are losing bids to rivals for no apparent reason
• You are going through a divorce and your partner seems to know far too much about your business
• You are the subject of a story in the press containing private information from ‘a source’
• You are going through contract negotiation and your opponent seems to know far too much about your business
• Your computer seems to have been moved and/or the wiring looks different
• Your computer slows down for no apparent reason 
• You get ‘new permission’ type requests from your anti-virus software but you have installed no new software
• Your on-line mail accounts change view and/or emails show as read when you have not yet read them

• Your employees seem to know your decisions before they are announced
• Apparently innocent objects appear in your environment. Items may include air-fresheners, Tissue boxes, pictures on wall, smoke detectors, PIR detectors, new wall sockets (power, IT, telecoms), sprinklers etc.
• Electrical wall sockets look ‘jarred’ or skewed
• Pictures, clocks and other items seem moved or changed
• You find dust or debris from ceiling tiles on your desk/floor
• Unsolicited contractors turn up to work in your office/home (nobody called them). Areas include IT, photocopier service, telecoms, air-conditioning, cleaning, utilities etc.
